Slow Vehicles With 5 Or More Following Vehicles Must Use Turn-Out

Slow drivers with five or more vehicles behind them must use the next turn-out.

Used on two-lane mountain and rural highways without passing lanes, this placard codifies the slow-vehicle turnout rule: when a driver moving below the prevailing speed has five or more vehicles stacked behind them, state law requires pulling into the next designated turn-out to let traffic pass. Failure to yield can be cited.
