Stop

Come to a complete stop at the line, crosswalk, or intersection, then proceed only when safe.

A full stop is required at the marked stop line, crosswalk, or intersection edge; wheels must come to a complete halt, not just slow. After stopping, drivers yield to pedestrians and any cross traffic that has the right-of-way before continuing. Rolling through is one of the most commonly cited moving violations and an automatic fail on the road test.
