State Law: No Hand-Held Phone Use By Driver

State law prohibits drivers from using hand-held phones while driving.

Vertical version of the state hand-held phone ban marker. Drivers may not hold a phone to talk, text, or use apps while operating the vehicle. Hands-free devices are usually allowed for adult drivers, but novice drivers in many states are banned from any phone use. Penalties include fines and license points.
