Yield Here To Pedestrians (Left)

Yield to pedestrians at the marked crosswalk on the left where the arrow points.

Installed on a multilane approach to an uncontrolled marked crosswalk, this assembly tells drivers to slow and yield well in advance of the crossing (at the location indicated by the curved arrow) rather than stopping in the crosswalk itself. Yielding back from the crossing keeps the pedestrian visible to drivers in adjacent lanes and helps prevent multiple-threat crashes.
