Solid White Lane Line
Solid white line between same-direction lanes; discourages lane changes through the marked area.
A solid white line separates lanes of traffic moving in the same direction where lane changes are discouraged, such as approaches to intersections, exit and entrance ramp gores, and managed-lane buffers. Drivers should stay in their lane through the solid section; crossing it is allowed only when necessary and is prohibited in some states.
