Solid red pavement marks a lane reserved for buses and authorized transit vehicles; private vehicles must stay out.
A continuous red pavement field marks a lane reserved for buses and other authorized transit vehicles. Private cars and trucks must stay out of the red lane except for the brief moment needed to make a permitted right turn or to enter or leave a driveway. Stopping, standing, parking, or driving through the red lane is prohibited and is typically enforced with cameras and fines.
