Double Broken Yellow Line (Reversible Lane)

Two broken yellow lines mark a reversible lane whose direction of travel changes at certain times; obey the lane-control signals overhead.

Two parallel broken yellow lines define a reversible lane, a center lane whose direction of travel can change depending on time of day or traffic demand. Yellow tells you traffic on the far side may be moving toward you, and the broken pattern means entry is allowed, but only when overhead lane-control signals (a green arrow or a red X) authorize use of the lane in your direction. Never enter a reversible lane under a red X.
