Broken-and-Solid Yellow Center Line

Pass only from the broken-line side; the side with the solid line may not pass.

A combination of one solid and one broken yellow line separates opposing traffic where passing is allowed for one direction but not the other. Drivers on the side with the broken line may cross to pass when safe; drivers on the side with the solid line must not cross to pass. The pairing is common on hills, curves, and other locations where sight distance favors one direction.
