Broken Yellow Center Line
A single broken yellow line separates opposing traffic and permits passing when the way is clear.
A single broken (dashed) yellow line marks the center of a two-way roadway where passing is allowed from either direction when it is safe to do so. Drivers may briefly cross into the oncoming lane to pass slower traffic, then return to their own lane. Always check for oncoming vehicles, sight distance, and any no-passing signs before crossing.
