There is no mandatory waiting period: same-day knowledge-test retakes are permitted. The knowledge test fee is charged for each attempt.

42% pass; 2025; all attempts; knowledge test (Class C). Oregon publishes this yearly, and it moves: 54% of attempts passed in 2021, 45% in 2022, 41% in 2023, 40% in 2024 and 42% in 2025. The count is of tests administered, so a person who fails twice and passes on the third try contributes two fails and one pass. Oregon does not publish a first-attempt figure. The 2020 to 2023 records analysis reports 57% for the same test over a different window.
