Steel Deck (Plaque)

Identifies that the slippery condition warned above is caused by an open steel-grid bridge deck.

Used as a supplemental plaque beneath a slippery-pavement warning, this sign tells drivers that the surface ahead is an open or solid steel bridge deck. Steel decks lose traction quickly when wet or icy and can cause vehicles to track or wander even in dry conditions. Slow down, hold the wheel firmly, and avoid abrupt steering or braking on the deck.
