Shoulder Drop-Off (Right)

There is a vertical drop from the pavement edge to the right shoulder; stay in your lane and avoid drifting onto the shoulder.

Posted where the right shoulder sits noticeably below the travel lane, often during repaving or after edge erosion. Catching the edge can yank the vehicle out of line. Hold lane position, and if a tire does fall off the pavement, do not jerk the wheel; slow gradually, then steer back onto the road at a shallow angle once speed is under control.
