Shoulder Drop-Off (Plaque)
There is a vertical drop between the travel lane and the adjacent shoulder.
Mounted as a supplemental plaque under a Low Shoulder or related warning, this sign tells drivers that the edge of the pavement steps down sharply to the shoulder. Drifting onto the shoulder can catch a tire and pull the vehicle off the road; if a wheel does drop off, ease off the throttle, hold the wheel straight, and steer gently back when traffic permits.
