Grooved Pavement

The pavement ahead has been grooved and may affect vehicle handling, especially for motorcycles.

Used where the roadway has been longitudinally grooved (typically as a temporary surface during resurfacing or as a permanent skid-resistance treatment) this warning alerts drivers to a textured surface that can grab tires and cause subtle wandering. Motorcyclists and small vehicles should hold a firm grip, reduce speed, and avoid abrupt steering inputs through the affected segment.
