Bump

An abrupt rise in the pavement ahead; slow down before reaching it.

A sharp vertical rise in the roadway is just ahead. Hitting it at speed can jolt the vehicle, throw cargo, or unsettle motorcycles and bicycles. Reduce speed before the bump and keep both hands on the wheel.
