HOV Plaque

Indicates the related sign or condition applies to a high-occupancy vehicle lane.

A supplemental plaque carrying the abbreviation HOV, used to clarify that the warning or regulation above it applies specifically to a high-occupancy vehicle lane or facility. It is often paired with lane-ending, merge, or exit warnings on freeways with managed lanes. Drivers should associate the warned condition with the HOV lane rather than the general-purpose lanes.
