Bear Crossing

Bears may enter the roadway in this area; slow down and scan the shoulders, especially at dusk and dawn.

Bears are known to cross the highway in this area. Reduce speed, particularly at dawn, dusk, and after dark when wildlife is most active and hardest to see. A collision with a large animal can disable the vehicle and cause serious injury; brake firmly in a straight line rather than swerving if a bear enters your path.
