Hairpin Curve (Left)

A sharp hairpin curve to the left is ahead; reduce speed substantially.

Indicates an extreme bend that nearly doubles back on itself to the left, far sharper than a normal turn. Slow well before entering, downshift if needed, hold your lane, and be ready for additional curves as roads with hairpins often have several in succession. Watch for posted advisory speeds that may be very low.
