Railroad Crossing (Crossbuck)

Yield to any approaching train; the road crosses railroad tracks at this location.

The crossbuck is the standard regulatory marker at a highway-rail grade crossing. It functions like a yield sign: drivers must slow down, look and listen for trains in both directions, and stop if a train is approaching. Crossbucks are often paired with flashing red lights, gates, or a numeric placard showing how many tracks must be crossed.
