Operating an uninsured vehicle, or letting someone else operate one, triggers a separate three-month suspension of your driving privilege on top of the registration suspension. Both penalties run for the same length. The one-year figure in D is borrowed from the manual's fleeing-or-eluding penalty and misapplied to operating an uninsured vehicle.
The traps in the wrong answers
A. Only the registration is affected; your license is untouched
The manual imposes a driving privilege suspension on top of the registration suspension when the vehicle was operated. This answer reads the registration penalty as the whole story and skips the second sentence that adds the license suspension.
C. You are placed on a six-month probationary license
Probationary licensing is not the response the manual assigns to driving without insurance. This answer borrows probationary-license language from other traffic penalties that does not appear in the insurance rule.
D. It is suspended for one year
One year is longer than the three-month driving-privilege suspension the manual assigns for operating an uninsured vehicle. This answer borrows the one-year suspension the manual assigns for fleeing or eluding police and applies it to operating an uninsured vehicle.
