How many areas of space around your vehicle does the manual say you must be able to manage?
-
A.
Ten
-
B.
Six Correct
-
C.
Four
-
D.
Eight
The answer is "Six"
The Managing Space diagram numbers six areas around your vehicle: one ahead (Area 1), one behind (Area 6), one to each side (Areas 2 and 3), and one behind each rear quarter (Areas 4 and 5). Test-takers who count only front, back, and the two sides stop at four and pick C, but the manual counts the two rear-quarter blind spots as their own numbered zones, bringing the total to six.
The traps in the wrong answers
A. Ten
The diagram in the Managing Space section numbers only six areas around your vehicle, not ten. This answer splits each side and mirror view into its own zone, inflating the six numbered areas the diagram actually labels.
C. Four
The diagram shows more zones than the four compass directions around the vehicle. This answer counts only front, back, and the two sides while dropping the rear-quarter blind spots (Areas 4 and 5) that the diagram numbers separately.
D. Eight
The diagram numbers six areas around your vehicle, not eight. This answer borrows the eight-point compass habit (N, S, E, W plus the four corners) and adds front-corner zones the manual does not number.
