Shared-Lane Marking (Sharrow)
Bicyclists and motor vehicles share this lane; expect bikes and pass with care.
A shared-lane marking, or sharrow, is a bicycle symbol topped by two chevron arrows. It tells drivers that bicyclists are expected to share the lane with cars and shows cyclists the recommended line of travel, away from the door zone of parked vehicles. Drivers should not pass within the lane unless they can give the bicyclist a safe buffer; if the lane is too narrow, change lanes to pass.
