Speed Hump Marking

White triangles pointing in the direction of travel warn of a speed hump ahead; slow down.

A series of solid white triangles painted on the pavement, pointing in the direction of travel, marks an upcoming speed hump or speed table. The chevron-style marks make the hump visible at a distance so drivers can slow to the posted advisory speed before crossing. Hitting a speed hump too fast can damage the vehicle and is unsafe for occupants.
