Ladder (Continental) Crosswalk

High-visibility crosswalk with white bars between two transverse lines; yield to pedestrians.

A high-visibility crosswalk made of long white bars painted parallel to traffic flow between two transverse boundary lines, forming a ladder pattern. The design is far more visible to drivers than a plain transverse crosswalk, especially at night or in rain, and is used at uncontrolled crossings, school zones, and busy pedestrian areas. Drivers must yield to pedestrians within or entering the crosswalk.
