Point system
Also known as: driver points, license points, demerit points
A method by which a state's licensing agency tracks moving violations by assigning points to a driver's record. Points accumulate as new violations occur; reaching a threshold within a set period triggers warnings, mandatory courses, license suspension, or revocation.
