Flagger Ahead (Word Message)

A flagger is directing traffic ahead, and you must obey that person's signals.

W20-7a carries the same instruction as the flagger symbol sign, spelled out in words. Road agencies may post either one, so learn the symbol and the wording as the same message. Whichever version you see, slow down, expect to stop, and take your direction from the flagger rather than from the markings or the signal.
