Variable Speed Limit Ahead

A variable (electronically posted) speed limit applies ahead; watch for the changeable speed display.

Alerts drivers that the posted speed limit ahead is set by a variable-message sign and may change with traffic, weather, or work-zone conditions. Watch for the electronic display, obey the speed shown, and be ready to adjust as conditions change. The posted variable limit is enforceable just like a fixed limit.
