Slippery When Wet (Work Zone)

Pavement ahead becomes slick in wet conditions; slow down and avoid sudden steering or braking.

The pavement through the work zone loses traction quickly in rain, snow, or freezing temperatures, often because of fresh oil-and-chip seal, polished surfaces, or temporary patching. Reduce speed, increase your following distance, and make steering, braking, and acceleration inputs gradual to avoid a skid.
