No Shoulder (Work Zone)

There is no usable shoulder along the work zone; do not pull off the travel lane.

Paved or improved shoulder is not available through the work zone, so there is nowhere to safely pull over for a breakdown, emergency, or to let faster traffic by. Reduce speed, keep extra space ahead, and continue past the construction area before stopping. Be alert for workers, equipment, or stopped vehicles in or near the travel lane.
