Dip (Work Zone)

A short, abrupt depression in the road surface lies ahead; reduce speed before reaching it.

A low spot in the pavement (sharp enough to bottom out a suspension or scrape a low car at speed) is just ahead. During heavy rain a dip can also collect standing water, so slow down before you enter it and be ready for reduced traction. Watch for vehicles ahead braking unexpectedly.
