Shoulder Drop-Off Plaque

Word-message plaque alerting drivers to a vertical drop between the pavement edge and the shoulder.

This rectangular plaque accompanies a warning symbol or pavement-condition sign to spell out that the edge of the travel lane drops abruptly to a lower shoulder. Treat it as a cue to keep your tires fully on the paved surface and to recover gradually if you do drift right, since a sharp steering correction across the lip can pull the vehicle out of its lane.
