Traffic Fines Doubled In Construction Zones

Monetary penalties for traffic violations are doubled inside construction zones.

A California advisory that fines for moving violations are doubled while traveling through a posted construction zone. The notice is posted at the start of the zone and applies whether or not workers are visible, reinforcing the need to obey the posted speed and lane controls until the zone ends.
