What line marks the right edge of the road?
-
A.
A broken white line
-
B.
A broken yellow line
-
C.
A solid yellow line
-
D.
A solid white line Correct
The answer is "A solid white line"
The right edge of the roadway is marked with a solid white line, both on ordinary roads and on limited-access highways with medians. Drivers who pick a yellow line have hold of the other half of the same rule: yellow marks the LEFT edge of divided highways, one-way streets, and ramps, not the right edge.
The traps in the wrong answers
A. A broken white line
Broken white separates lanes going the same way; road edges are marked with solid lines. This answer reaches for the lane-divider style instead of the edge-line style, applying the same-direction lane separator where a solid boundary belongs.
B. A broken yellow line
Broken yellow shows the center of a two-way, two-lane road, not any road edge. This answer recalls the centerline pattern for two-lane roads and misplaces it at the outer boundary of the pavement.
C. A solid yellow line
Solid yellow marks the left edge on divided highways, one-way streets, and ramps, not the right edge. This answer flips the divided-highway edge colors, putting yellow on the right when the manual assigns yellow only to the left.
