What is the minimum number of correct answers required to pass the Oregon Class C knowledge test?
-
A.
20.
-
B.
25.
-
C.
28. Correct
-
D.
32.
The answer is "28."
You must answer 28 of the 35 questions correctly to pass the Class C knowledge test: 80%. Missing 7 questions is the maximum that still allows you to pass; the eighth wrong answer is the failure threshold.
The traps in the wrong answers
A. 20.
20/35 is below the passing threshold. Misreading: Confuses the passing score with a much lower bar; the manual sets 28, not 20.
B. 25.
25/35 is below the passing threshold of 28. Misreading: Half-remembers a roughly 70% pass mark; Oregon requires 28/35, not a lower count.
D. 32.
32 exceeds the minimum; 28 is the threshold. Misreading: Inflates the requirement to roughly 90%; the manual states 28 correct is enough to pass.
