The manual says a driver may drive at the maximum posted speed limit:
-
A.
Whenever the driver feels confident
-
B.
Only when other traffic matches the limit
-
C.
Only under safe conditions Correct
-
D.
Only in daylight hours
The answer is "Only under safe conditions"
The maximum posted number is a ceiling that applies only when driving conditions are safe. B is the trap: it turns match-the-flow guidance from the safe-driving chapter into a license to hit the maximum whenever surrounding cars do, which is not what the manual says.
The traps in the wrong answers
A. Whenever the driver feels confident
Driver confidence is not the standard the manual uses. This answer substitutes a personal feeling for the objective condition test the manual sets.
B. Only when other traffic matches the limit
Matching traffic does not itself make the posted maximum safe to drive. This answer reads match-the-flow safe-driving guidance as a rule that the flow itself permits the maximum.
D. Only in daylight hours
Daylight alone does not equal safe conditions; other factors also matter. This answer reduces every road hazard to whether it is light or dark outside.
