Florida requires you to pull to the closest edge of the road and stop until the emergency vehicle passes. Choice B trades that for the habit drivers pick up from watching others accelerate away from a siren, but the rule is "stop at the edge," not "get out of the way faster."
The traps in the wrong answers
A. Speed up to clear the ambulance's path more quickly.
Accelerating is not a lawful response and creates a collision risk with cross traffic. This answer reads 'get out of the way' as speed rather than as pulling to the edge and stopping.
B. Continue at your current speed and stay in your lane.
Continuing on obstructs the emergency vehicle rather than yielding to it. This answer treats a two-lane road as having no room to yield when the manual still requires pulling to the edge.
C. Move into the center of the road so the ambulance can pass on either side.
Straddling the center leaves the ambulance no clear lane and blocks oncoming traffic. This answer confuses splitting the road for the ambulance with clearing a single edge for it, which is what the rule calls for.
